The annual State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) conducted among state employees in Clinton-Essex-Franklin and Hamilton Counties has concluded and was highly successful raising nearly 10% more than last year. This year’s campaign total is $209,077.45.

Among the area correctional facilities and state agencies, several groups had significant increases in giving that helped the SEFA campaign surpass its $200,000 goal. Employees at Adirondack CF raised $6,028.00, Adirondack Park Agency $1,843.00, Adirondack Residential Center $260.00, Adirondack Wilderness Challenge $1,755.00, Altona CF $9,258.00, Bare Hill CF $18,330.00, Camp Gabriels CF $5,408.00, Chateaugay CF $4,827.00, Clinton CF $31,575.00, Court Systems $1,300.00, Franklin CF 20,683.00, Lyon Mountain CF $2,152.00, Moriah Shock CF $4,573.00, NYS DEC $7,556.25, NY Department of Labor $1,460.00, NYS DOT $2496.00, NYS Police $18,251.00, NYS Division of Parole $130.00, Office of Real Property Service $1,222.00, ORDA $600.00, Racing and Wagering Board $1,580.00, Sunmount DDSO $9,801.00, SUNY Plattsburgh $52,693.00, Upstate CF $2,960.00 and VESID $2,336.20.

John Bernardi, Executive Director of the United Way of Clinton and Essex Counties, Inc. and SEFA Coordinator for Clinton-Essex-Franklin and Hamilton Counties had high praise for Wayne Rabideau of the Altona Correctional Facility and a member of the PEF union, who acts as a Loaned Executive to the campaign. Bernardi also stated that “the local SEFA committee, comprised of representatives from state agencies, is an extraordinary team of people who make it all happen”. State Employees can designate their gift to a wide range of local charities, as well as out of the area.
