United Way Announces Campaign Goal
The United Way of Clinton and Essex Counties, Inc. has
announced that the campaign goal for 2008 will be $700,000. John Bernardi,
Executive Director said, “while this will be a great challenge, we are confident
that this generous community will once again show its commitment to ensuring
that vital services are available for our families, friends and neighbors”. The
local United Way funds 33 member agencies that provide health and human services
to children, adults, seniors and families throughout Clinton and Essex Counties.
Bob Donlan of Donlan and Barcomb Financial Services will be
chairing the campaign this year which begins in August and concludes in
December. The funds raised during the campaign will be allocated to local
service providers for 2008. Donlan said, “ It is an honor to serve as this
year’s chairperson. My family and I have been effected several times where a
United Way agency has helped. Sooner or later the United Way will help you or a
loved one.” The vice chair of the campaign will be Dan Alexander, owner and
publisher of Denton Publications, based in Elizabethtown. Bernardi said, “We are
assembling an outstanding group of dedicated community members to be on the
